If you’ve ever been to Texas, not only have you come to accept that YOUR summer will hit scorching peaks in August, but you better get used to continuous chirping/rattling coming from (what seems like) every branch in every tree. A visiting friend, from California, was thoroughly disgusted once she was informed that the sounds where coming from the masses of bugs lingering above in the trees. Cicadas. Their name literally means “buzzers” in Latin. To some annoying and others comforting, summer isn’t complete without the familiar sound from these little creatures which leads me to our first post.
Habits, a light warrior, born in the Philippines but resides in Houston, has been producing some organic, soothing melodies all summer long. His style is unique and uplifting. “Midnight Cicadas” is a harmonious blend of buzzing, echoing, grooving beats that leaves your mind and body calm. Enjoy.
